About the Company
West Plains Transport, Inc. (“WPT” or the “Company”) had its first beginning with its founders and owners Gary Dunn and his wife Barbara Dunn. After graduation, Gary and Barbara started a farming and harvesting business in Plains, KS and was successful for twenty-five continuous years afterwards. In order to expand on their business, Gary and Barbara started West Plains Transport, Inc in 1997 to fully utilize the equipment and haul grain in addition to other products. Now, WPT services multiple clients with its fleet of thirty-five trucks/trailers and drivers and services clients all the way from milk to grain and continue to provide its top-tier transportation services to Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas.
Situation
Accounts receivables tied to insurance and the government often take time to With the increased success of their business and demand of their services, the Company needed a structure that was appropriately priced, scalable for their future and accommodating to their industry. In order to not strain their cash flow and provide enough working capital to bring on more drivers and trucks, WPT needed to lower their cost of capital and bring in additional working capital.
Solution
Alantes closed a $1,000,000 accounts receivable line of credit that leverage the outstanding medical receivables and was able to provide much needed working capital for the Company. “Alantes was pivotal at this stage in our company’s growth and operations.” said WPT’s President and Owner Gary Dunn. “The financing that Alantes provided eased our financing structure and really helped establish the groundwork for our business to flourish.
